Week 16; post 1

With so many social media platforms available, it is easy to see how this generation of entrepreneurs can become so successful with seemingly little to no marketing budget.  One doesn't need to spend a lot to get their business name out there and start gaining popularity.  When choosing which social media platforms will work best for your business, it is important to consider the product or service you are selling, the size of your business, and the budget you are working with. The social media platforms that work best for my business are Instagram and Facebook.  Baseball cards are a very visual item.   Collectors consider them works of art.  Utilizing visual platforms is the best way to sell this kind of product.  Youtube is another great platform, because again it is visual.  We could do live box breaks if we were to have a channel, believe it or not, people do watch other people open packs of cards!  Blogging is another good avenue, as pictures can be posted and topics can be

Week 2, Part 1

Social media is a great tool for business.  Facebook, Twitter, LinkdIn, Instagram, YouTube are all sites that are used by individuals for fun and by businesses for marketing purposes.  In some cases the two worlds collide, for example when the friend you knew from high school starts promoting her pyramid scheme business on her social media accounts. Scentsy anyone? Nail decals perhaps? Maybe essential oils are your thing? I believe that social media started as a way for people to connect and communicate, and business marketing followed. All social media can be used for personal as well as business purposes.  Instagram seems better suited for personal use, although instagram now runs business ads in your feed.  In my opinion they feel out of place, intrusive almost. I’m trying to scroll pics of friends and family, maybe catch a funny meme and bam, I’m hit with an ad.  It annoys me to be honest. Week 10, post 1

Using a blog for your business is a great way to increase traffic to your website and get your name and product out there.  People search the internet all day everyday for information and answers to questions they have.  Just yesterday I googled how to change the battery in my car key fob.  That search lead me to a blog, several you tube videos, and auto dealership websites that provide that service.  I was able to watch an instructional video, read about alternative options to doing it myself and even ran across a tip to use a silicone cover (sold on amazon) after putting the key back together to help ensure the key stays securely put back together.  I were a "car person"  that blog would've gained a new follower in me.  This is a great example of how blogs can reach people and increase the volume of traffic to your business.
