Week 7, post 1

I chose to like facebook pages that would have viewers that are interested in baseball cards.
The sites I liked are:
Topps, Beckett Media, Baseball Cards, Baseball Card Exchange, My Topps, Panini America, and Upper Deck.
All sites have direct ties to baseball and baseball cards, which means their followers may visit and follow my page as well.

With so many social media platforms available, it is easy to see how this generation of entrepreneurs can become so successful with seemingly little to no marketing budget.  One doesn't need to spend a lot to get their business name out there and start gaining popularity.  When choosing which social media platforms will work best for your business, it is important to consider the product or service you are selling, the size of your business, and the budget you are working with. Week 2, Part 1

Social media is a great tool for business.  Facebook, Twitter, LinkdIn, Instagram, YouTube are all sites that are used by individuals for fun and by businesses for marketing purposes.  In some cases the two worlds collide, for example when the friend you knew from high school starts promoting her pyramid scheme business on her social media accounts. Scentsy anyone? Nail decals perhaps? Maybe essential oils are your thing? I believe that social media started as a way for people to connect and communicate, and business marketing followed. All social media can be used for personal as well as business purposes.  Instagram seems better suited for personal use, although instagram now runs business ads in your feed.  In my opinion they feel out of place, intrusive almost. Week 3, part 1

Social media has become a convenient and accepted way for consumers to communicate with businesses.  Many have facebook business pages and twitter accounts that allow their customers and associates to communication with them without ever having to pick up the phone.  Customers feel more connected to the companies they purchase from when the opportunity exists to get feedback promptly when they have a concern. As far as positive social media communication experiences go, I really have not attempted communication through any platforms so I can’t say that I have had any!  I have had unpleasant experiences when trying to communicate with businesses. My worst experiences have been dealing with phone companies, both in my personal life and professional life.  I never leave comments or feedback on social media.
